Pink Ribbon for Sheryl Crow

Sheryl Crow is one of my favorite rock and roll singers. I learned from my spouse today that Crow had been in the hospital for breast cancer surgery.

Here's the press release:

Sheryl Crow has surgery for breast cancer

LOS ANGELES - Sheryl Crow underwent surgery for breast cancer earlier this week and the prognosis for a full recovery is excellent, her publicist reported Friday.

The singer-songwriter had the surgery in Los Angeles on Wednesday and is recovering without complications, said Dave Tomberlin, her publicist.

"Her doctors think her prognosis is excellent," said Tomberlin.

Read the rest here.

It's not known if Lance Armstrong, her ex-finance knew about her illness. I bet he does now.

We all know about Elizabeth Edwards and her fight against breast cancer. So far so good. Thank goodness Elizabeth had JRE for her rock and to be with her every step of the way when she wanted his support.

My spouse's first wife died of breast cancer--within 18 months of diagnosis. She was 43 when she died. Crow is about the same age--tad bit older.

Prayers for Crow.

  • I too hope Sheryl Crow has a quick recovery. The timing of the breakup with Lance Armstrong seems a bit odd. I vaguely remember that Armstrong broke up with his first wife not long after this recovery from his cancer.
