Coulda been Worse for TTU: 7th from 2nd

After yesterday's U-G-L-Y game in Norman, TTU is at least still 7th. No, they won't make it to the Orange Bowl for the big game with Alabama, but another prominent bowl will do. At least for this Techsan fan.

Tech Rumbles Past the OSU Cowboys

Tech had another good night, this time against the number 8 Oklahoma State Cowboys. The Cowboys made the first touchdown of the night, but Tech scored shortly after--and never looked back.

From the Tech Athletics website:

LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) -- Around the time Michael Crabtree caught his second touchdown and stood in the back of the end zone staring at the crowd -- or maybe when he celebrated his third score with a high-flying chest bump into Graham Harrell -- the questions about Texas Tech vanished.

That victory over then-No. 1 Texas was no emotion-fueled fluke.

The No. 2 Red Raiders truly are one of the best teams in the country.

Harrell and Crabtree picked up right where they left off against the Longhorns, leading Texas Tech to touchdowns on seven straight possessions on the way to trashing No. 8 Oklahoma State 56-20 Saturday night and solidifying an inside track to the national championship game.

"I feel like every week we have something to prove," Crabtree said. "We really don't too much worry about what other people think. We worry about what we can control, and that's us, and that's our team."

Now that the Red Raiders have gotten by two straight top-10 foes, one more awaits: No. 6 Oklahoma. In Norman.

Quarterback Graham Harrell complete 40 of 50 passes for 456 yards and 6 touchdowns.

Way to go Red Raiders!

Being in Lubbock

It's 4:30 AM in Lubbock on the Monday after, and the world is revolving around the Texas Tech Raiders, who were victorious over the Long-horn-Bevos. Yeah, BW readers can tell from my snark: Bevo got BBQ'd Sat night, and that was fine with me. "Bevo can bite my a$$" as the sayin' goes from college days.

Why the snark? I remember when Daryl Royal and his ILK marched into then Jones Stadium and slaughtered our Red Raiders over and over. Bevo was brought in a decade later and deficated in the field. What snobbery!

Tech is now number 2 or 3 in the polls. And I will tell you Daryl Royal, "How sweet... it... is."

BURNT ORANGE, baby.

Tech BBQ's Bevo in Spirit Arena

Texas Tech, under the new direction of Pat Knight, pulled an absolutely amazing upset of 83-30 over nationally ranked #5 Texas (and conference leader). I watched the last few minutes of the game, and while I give Texas for attempting to make up a double digit deficit, Tech learned not to be impatient in making mistakes. Alan Voskil was fouled 4 times, and John Robertson once. All made their FT's almost effortlessly.

Bevo, you got BBQ'd in Lubbock. Sweet sauce, peppers, potato salad and beer to follow.

Congrats to my alma mater, Texas Tech Red Raiders, who got their guns up today!

TEXAS Lost! YES!! Revenge is sweet!
