Tears in Heaven

For my mother who passed away on March 29, 2009...(h/t Bubbamonics at DK).

First a poem:

Now that I am gone,
remember me with smiles and laughter.
And if you need to cry,
cry with your brother or sister
who walks in grief beside you.

put your arms around anyone
and give to them what you need to give to me.
There are so many who need so much.

Look for me in the people I've known
or helped in some special way.

I like the video, even if it is about a parent lamenting about the loss of a child instead of the other way I feel. This song is also for John and Elizabeth Edwards as they lost their first son on this date in 1996. Sunday Night Warm Up for the American Music Awards

Today, I was in Best Buy waiting for my new computer to be configured (my other computer died in the mid-afternoon after 5 good years of use), and saw in the DVD section for music that Eric Clapton had Guitar Crossroads in more than one place last year. The first one was actually in Big D.

So, after getting my 'puter set up, and a few other downloads to do, I went to YT and found Clapton et al playing "Six Strings Down", a tribute to Stevie Ray Vaughn. Robert Randolph does an awesome job on the steel guitar on this video.



This is a warm up to the American Music awards in which David Cook is playing tonight. I may have missed him, but I'm certain the Cookies have it recorded somewhere. I hope David Cook gets the opportunity to meet Eric Clapton; that would be awesome.

Eric Clapton, an inspiration

I got this tip from Taylor Marsh's site. My spouse looks somewhat like EC, but can't play like Eric. Eric has dark eyes, whereas my spouse has handsome blues. Both the same height and both Scottish.
