Bill Maher as Phil the Flag Guy

Priceless! Great snarks about the Republicans too, especially Joe Wilson. Best Line: The health care plan Joe Wilson doesn't like would get him the prozac he needs.

and here's "New Rules":

I have to agree the White House needs to get tougher with wingnuts.

Bill Maher's New Rules: Souless Bastards Edition

Bill Maher is spot on when he said the current health insurance system is full of "souless bastards who want to make a profit off human pain."

Bill Maher Channels John Edwards

The first part is New Rules and jokes.

2:00 minutes in is the rant opinion piece that many of us would agree with. I think of my friend, Montana Maven, when I watch this.

He calls Democrats in Congress the New Republicans, and the current Republicans are the party of crazies. Except for one idea (about legalizing marijuana), all of the things that most Democratic party constituents want were the ones JRE proposed.

It occurs to me that the Democratic Party may be like the GOP in the sense that we have entertainers or the fallen politicians being our mouthpiece instead of elected officials. Dennis K of course, with exception.

Update: I just saw this AMA Commercial by Maher.

Yep, ain't it the truth.

Bill Maher: Sarah Palin Exceeded Expectations

" We learned she can speak a whole sentence."

And the Exit Strategy (including some great lines by Garry Shandling):

(note: Maher is borrowing similar material from his new movie, Religulous, a bit)

Obama Could Almost Win with These Special Campaigners

Last night was the best night in comedy. It was akin to a grand slam in a baseball game. The RNC Convention gave much fodder and then some more to the writers of the sharpest deliverers of irony. No, it wasn't drip drip last night, it was like a transfusion of wit. There is so much to post...and so little space.

I'm posting the opening segment and New Rules segments of Bill Maher's show last night. He was the 4th batter with the others on base: Michael Moore, Jon Stewart, and Stephen Colbert. Later, I will look for Stephen Colbert's and post it as well. I'm not certain the segment with David Patterson will be up as that was the funniest one last evening. I've already posted Jon Stewart, and will update the Michael Moore post with videos later.

Be prepared to have a lot of new laugh lines around your mouth.

Bill Maher is Putting Country First.

Well, I'm not so certain Obama could win with these great comedians, but they are the only ones who can punch at the eerieness of a McSame/Palin values ticket.

John Edwards on Real Time with Bill Maher

JRE was on Bill Maher's show last night. It was pretty funny and the rapport between them was very warm. I liked it how Maher asked him what it was like to live in Iowa (and NH, JRE added), and it must be like the longest business trip of his life.

Elizabeth was with John, and there were some jokes about the campaign being romantic--Not! LOL

I cannot get the video to embed properly, so I'm providing a link, courtesy of Blue NC.

Real Time with Bill Maher

It's a little over 11 minutes long. Enjoy!
